Carpooling / Covoiturage
Entry #: TT 1799
Entrant: Dianne Chretien
Dimensions: 48" x 41"
Materials: Cotton and metallic fabric, 80/20 batting, polyester and metallic thread, as well as embellishments (Swarovski® crystals and studs).
Techniques: Machine, fused, raw-edge appliqué and turned appliqué, machine piecing, satin stitching, trapunto, black binding, triple red piping and bias maker. Entirely free-motion, domestic-machine quilting.
Credits: Inspired by the work of friend, Paul Laprise, who drew the characters and the car on a white background. I built the city in background, left voluntarily free by the artist.
Artist’s Statement: Three strange characters proudly share the luxurious car that brings them to the city. The whole is surrounded by a wide black and red frame.
