Artist’s Statement: We had a cockatiel bird that we loved, so I always wanted to make a quilt with birds. I found Kathy McNeil’s "Audubon’s Christmas". Some of the fabric was not quite the proper colour or design, so I paint-embellished some parts and used wool for the wire on the fence posts.
