Artist’s Statement: I was drawn to this pattern because I love the use of traditional blocks in a slightly nontraditional setting. I visualised the pattern in my collection of brighter, civil war fabrics. It was challenging to piece each section accurately, so the entire quilt would fit together perfectly.
