Starburst Blossom, Deconstructed
Entry #: QP 1920
Entrant: Heather Jarmyn
Dimensions: 94" x 92" Bed Quilt
Materials: Commercial cotton fabric, wool batt, as well as a mixture of Aurifil® and Glide® threads.
Techniques: Machine piecing and longarm quilting.
Credits: Quilted by Liz Dempsey. Inspired by Cathy Victor’s PEIMQG mystery quilt-along.
Artist’s Statement: I wanted to challenge myself to deconstruct a large block and set it in an asymmetrical way. Large areas of space showcase low-volume fabrics, which I love. Each low-volume fabric has a different motif stitched. Look closely and you may find a surprise or two within.
