Materials: Thrift store clothes (90% reclaimed ), mixed fibres, thread, industrial felt backing, Velcro® and wood planks for hanging.

Techniques: Fused, raw-edge appliqué, hand piecing and domestic-machine quilting.

Artist’s Statement: Ephemeral moments disappear unless made permanent in some way. My goal is to tap into traditional quilts and painted portraits to create portraits, as family heirlooms, from casual photographs which are snapped by cell phones, often live in the “cloud” and usually vanish.
