Materials: Cotton fabric and Inktense® pencil.

Techniques: Hand and machine appliqué and fused, raw-edge appliqué. Hand-dyed sky. Longarm quilting with a stitch regulator.

Artist’s Statement: I raided my trunk of landscape fabric to make this quilt for a client who wanted a summer scene with birch trees. Playing with all the layers meant taking the piece off and on the longarm three times, in order to use an appliqué and quilt-at-the-same-time technique.
