Materials: Cotton fabric, Inktense® pencils, rayon threads, polyester threads, wire, water-soluble stabilizer and Steam-a-seam-2 lite®.
Techniques: Free-motion embroidery, machine, fused, raw-edge appliqué and domestic-machine quilting. Gloria Loughman’s tile method, colouring with Inktense® pencils and wire to create 3D leaves.
Artist’s Statement: Trees and the forest are magical to me. Working with Gloria Loughman’s tiled method and using complementary colours, I transitioned the background from autumn to spring while a magnificent oak shows its leaves in colour transformation, inversely, from spring through fall.
