Trying something new! The Thunder Bay Quilters Guild is trying a new model for our monthly guild meetings for the 2023/2024 year. Sept, Oct and Nov will be in-person at our regular meeting venue. Dec to March will be virtual, by Zoom. These months typically see meetings cancelled due to inclement winter weather, or at least a lower turnout. During these months, our executive/program committee has scheduled virtual lectures with prominent quilters from Canada, and sometimes the U.S. April and May will be in-person again, when Spring brings warmer temps and better weather. Our last meeting will be in June, over Zoom, as we have a special guest lecturer. During the year, there will also be in-person and Zoom classes/workshops, and socials, so that members can get together as they feel comfortable, and weather allows. The guild is also hosting sew-days over Zoom,  a postcard swap for those who want to stretch their creative wings, and a quilt bee. Nothing is written in stone, but so far, these options seem to be working as a way to keep our hands and sewing machines busy!
