Royal City Quilters’ Guild, located in Guelph Ontario, attracts members from
across North America with our mix of virtual and in-person experiences. We
developed our model based on input from membership.

Which events are virtual?

Each month, from September through June, we offer a virtual meeting
featuring a guest speaker. This is a cost-effective way to bring the high-
quality speakers members want to hear.
Throughout the year, we offer several workshops on Zoom to bring
informative and innovative speakers/teachers to our members and guests.
We co-host the popular Virtual Celebration of International Quilting Day with
two partner guilds. More information is available at https://iqdonline.com/.
We have a virtual sew day on the second Saturday of the month.
We support several special interest groups: Stash Busters, EQ 8 Users and a
Mystery Quilters Group. These groups prefer to meet on Zoom.

Which events are in-person?

In September 2023, we began to offer an in-person Member Mingle on the
fourth Saturday of most months. Local members wanted to connect with
others who share their interest in the quilting arts. Come Mingle with us at
the spacious Community Living Guelph Wellington facility (8 Royal Road in
Guelph, ON) between 10 am and 3:30 pm [Eastern].
Our Quilts of Valour initiative features several in-person sew days per year. We
are grateful to the Guelph Legion for providing space for those meetings.
With the financial support of the Lions Club of Guelph, we have donated 90
quilts measuring approximately 60” x 80” to the Guelph Home for Good
permanent supportive housing projects.
