Have you been busy working on your Ties That Bind Challenge quilt, playing with all of the fabulous colours in our logo? Or maybe you’ve been tutoring a young quilter to help them create their submission for the Youth Challenge, BFF? If so, you will want to know that the Entry Forms for both are now open.graphic of the Ties That Bind fabric colours

Entries for the Ties That Bind Challenge will be accepted online from February 1 to May 21, 2021. The winning quilt will be selected by Viewers’ Choice during A Celebration of Quilting in Canada 2021 and awarded a $100 cash prize.

This challenge is open to all individual and professional CQA/ACC members so get your creative juices flowing and let us see what The Ties that Bind means to you. Download and review the complete 2021 The Ties That Bind Challenge Guidelines before you begin. If you have any questions, please contact Director at Large, Irene Lafleche  (directoratlarge@canadianquilter.com).

Similarly, the BFF challenge form is now open until May 30, 2021. This challenge is available to all youth in Canada up to 19 years of age.  Entries must be sponsored by a CQA/ACC individual, professional or shop member in good standing and you may sponsor more than one entry.

The quilt must include all or part of a fat quarter of challenge fabric on the face of the quilt, which can be obtained by emailing Jane Cramer at jane.cramer@canadianquilteradministration.com.

The online Viewers’ Choice will be awarded to a quilt in each of three age categories: 5-9 years, 10-14 years, and 15-19 years. All winners will receive a ribbon, a certificate and a prize of fabric from the challenge sponsor, York Heritage Quilters Guild.

Visit the CQA/ACC Quilt Challenges page for information about all of the 2021 challenges.
