The Sunshine Coast Quilters’ Guild (meets in Sechelt) hosted Hands Across the Water for 9 other Quilt Guilds from Texada Island, Quadra Island, Powell River, Campbell River, Comox, Courtenay, Port Alberni and North Vancouver. Our theme was “High SocieTea”. Guests were encouraged to wear hats/fascinators and gloves. Lunch was provided by Spot of tea complete with lace tablecloths, china cups and saucers, plates, and tiered sandwich/cake plates. The tables were adorned with crazy quilt centrepieces and flowers. Teapot quilt blocks were requested and half were won by a draw and the others were donated to our Comfort Society to be made into a charity quilt. The Challenge Quilt theme was tea, “T” and had to have brown & yellow and no larger than 30″x30″ and labeled. Our Zoom guest speaker was Betsey Goodwin of Rocky Mountain Antique Quilts and Restoration. An excellent speaker with years of experience sourcing out antique fabrics and doing quilt restorations. There were 4 vendors on hand and our guests took full advantage of the shopping opportunity. A fun day for all the participants.
