CSDA/CCAD Marian Bradshaw Lecture: Canadian Quilts and Their Makers presented by Lisa Binkley

September 26 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
$11.98 – $27.96

On September 26, at 11 am, The Canadian Society of Decorative Arts/Cercle des arts décoratifs will present their annual Marian Bradshaw Lecture, featuring Professor Lisa Binkley of Dalhousie University speaking on Canadian Quilts and Their Makers. The event can be attended in person at the Arts and Letters Club, 14 Elm Street Toronto or virtually, on Zoom.

Drawing from her new book of the same name, Professor Binkley will explore nineteenth-century Canadian quilts—from homespun and patchwork to appliqué and whole-cloth examples—to reveal what they tell us about their their makers and users. She will also examine how the period’s dramatic technological changes transformed quilting practices.
