Huddle!

Entry #: AP 1705
Entrant: Susan Sherman
Dimensions: 49" x 33"
Materials: Cotton lawn fabric, procion dyes and 100% silk batting.
Techniques: Dye-painted wholecloth quilt with hand quilting and longarm quilting with a stitch regulator.
Artist’s Statement: Magellanic penguins nest in large rookeries, vulnerable to sea-level rise and oil spills. I saw this group in Patagonia and loved their expressiveness and unique colouring. This wholecloth piece was fun to quilt, especially around each individual stone they are standing on.
