Reflection
Entry #: AL 1776
Entrant: Tracie L. Maryne
Dimensions: 25" x 21"
Materials: Lightweight muslin, cotton fabric, batting, various threads and fabric paints.
Techniques: Free-motion embroidery, thread painting and domestic-machine quilting.
Artist’s Statement: Trees are a continuing motif in my art and most often inspired by photos I take, as is the case with this one. There is beauty in gnarly branches reaching up and out, reflecting in the water below. They can symbolize the need for spiritual reflection.
