Thank you to all the volunteers who make it possible for CQA/ACC to exist and serve Canada’s quilting community.

Except for CQA/ACC’s full-time Executive Director, one part-time Assistant, and a few contractors, the organization is run by volunteers.

They include: the entire Board of Directors; all of the Regional Representatives in each province and territory; the organizers of numerous quilt challenges and shows, including the National Juried Show; the organizers of Quilt Canada; all of those who work at Quilt Canada; the members of the Communications Committee; and most of the contributors to Canadian Quilter magazine.

We’re not kidding when we say CQA/ACC would not be able to function without the hundreds of volunteers who go above and beyond to help create opportunities for Canadian quilters to know each other, learn from each other, and be together virtually and in-person to share our love of quilting.

Please take a moment today and thank a volunteer. Pat yourself on the back if you are a volunteer. Be kind to a volunteer, and let them know that you appreciate how they step up when needed, no matter how challenging it is to keep all the balls in the air and to do everything just right.

Even though we appreciate them every day, all year long, this week is Volunteer Week, which gives everyone a special chance to say: Hoorah for volunteers!
