2020 has come and gone but we will continue to experience its influence for a long time. In addition to the trends in quilting and fiber arts that were unfolding at the beginning of 2020 – then frozen in time because of so many cancelled events – we now have layers of trend influences that come from months spent indoors during the pandemic. Luana will share select images of quilts from early 2020 festivals and exhibits (Tokyo and QuiltCon) that are forward-thinking and trendsetting. We will also look at design trends, cultural influences, and colour trends that have developed over the last year and discuss how this will influence quilt making and textile arts in the coming year.
