Description of Presentation
The Hows and Whys of “Quilted and Carved”
In this brand new lecture Sue explains all about her new “quilted and carved” work. These are whole cloth dye-painted animal portraits surrounded by a metallic frame painted onto the same cloth. After quilting, Sue cuts away the background and finishes the edges for a sculpted look. She puts a lot of thought into making original frames she likes to think the animal might choose for itself. The lecture will show the labour-intensive creation process in detail, and showcase the wide variety of quilts with thoughtful and/or whimsical frames that Sue has made in this series.
About Sue Sherman
