Materials: Background screen-printed by artist and antique buttons.

Techniques: Hand and free-motion embroidery, machine appliqué, thread painting, hand quilting and longarm quilting with a stitch regulator.

Artist’s Statement: Ravens have an air of mystery and are known for their love of bright, shiny bits. I chose to hand quilt the moody background. Mother-of-pearl buttons are part of his stash! I inserted a plastic sheet to give stability to the piece.
