Techniques: Fused appliqué, pixelism and domestic-machine quilting

Artist’s Statement: I wanted a way to represent trees and fall foliage in my grandson’s heritage quilt, so I tried this technique I call “pixelism.” I am so impressed by the level of detail realized using this technique, I used it for the entire quilt. This technique is not as easy as it looks and has something Zen about it. I hand-dyed all fabric and placed every pixel one at a time.
