Techniques: Free-motion embroidery, fused, raw-edge appliqué and domestic-machine quilting. Quilted item stretched over a wood frame for display.

Artist’s Statement: While visiting our home with our daughter and son-in-law, our grandpuppy would rest at the top of the stairs waiting to make sure all his family was safely in his view. I attempted to capture his pose and attentive gaze.
