Artist’s Statement: I was interested in trying this block-of-the-month with Helen Godden. I always loved painting and to combine painting and quilting sounded like a fun project. I was so happy to paint all the exotic birds with their beautiful colours. The free-motion quilting was quite a challenge because there is no room for error on a painted block.
