Artist’s Statement: This quilt was inspired by a photograph taken when we were visiting my daughter in the Yukon. While skiing near Takhini, we came across this shell of on old truck: rusting, parts missing and trees growing up around it. I loved the juxtaposition of nature with a manmade object and the message it carries of how our discarded materials remain in nature long after we have forgotten them.
