Artist’s Statement: The inspiration for this quilt derives from a personal photo of a wild Jack-in-the-pulpit. Masses of these plants are found in our local woods every spring. I made the spathe, or hood, 3D to emphasize the way it covers the flower-bearing spadix or “Jack.”
