Our December 2021 meeting was held virtually,  and started off with a lecture by Mathew Boudreaux, AKA Mr. Domestic. He spoke about how he got started in quilting, and how to find joy before your creativity can begin. Mathew showed examples of his work, and spoke about some new things he is working on. He will be teaching our guild members his Lonestar Quilt class via zoom in January 2022. Many photos were submitted by members for the show and tell portion of our meeting. Topic for discussion was a UFO list, where members can make a list and then challenge themselves to complete some or all of their projects. Our generous guild members donated 290 teddy bears and quilts, for Christmas gift giving, 315 placemats for use in local senior facilities, and numerous quilts for those same locations. Our guild postcard swap was a resounding success! Such creativity! There are plans in the works for a spring swap. We are looking forward to upcoming lectures by Sarah Goer and Krista Hennebury. Krista will also be teaching 2 workshops virtually. There are lots of opportunities for inspiration and learning, and while it would be great if we could do them in person, we are thankful that technology allows us to participate in other ways. Guild membership certainly has its’ advantages!
