What a busy year we have had so far! The  Thunder Bay Quilters Guild has donated 196 quilts and teddy bears/plush toys to Christmas Cheer and other local organizations. The collection was in November, and they were distributed for inclusion in hampers for Christmas. A fidget bee was held, and fidgets were distributed to local senior’s facilities for use by their residents. Fidgets include faux-fur fabric, zippers, Velcro, snaps and other items intended to keep restless hands busy. Placemats, an ongoing project, are made and distributed to local agencies, including Meals-on-wheels. They give cheer to recipients, and brighten their tables. Donation quilts are regularly made and distributed to local facilities. The sizes range from lap/nap, to wheelchair, to bed quilts. The generosity of our members is spread amongst the community. We have taken advantage of classes over Zoom, the most recent being given by Tamara Kate Serrao, who is a quilter from Montreal. Her pixelation workshop was well-received and enjoyed. She had previously presented a virtual trunk show to our guild. We are all very busy getting prepared to hold our quilt show on May 26-28, 2023. Hope to see you there!
