The Langley Quilters’ Guild continues to meet in-person with some members still opting to attend via Zoom. Workshops are once again becoming part of our guild offerings and quilt shows are popping up around the Lower Mainland. Sadly, we made the difficult decision, for the second time, to cancel our own guild show, scheduled for May 2022. Our Community Quilts committee has remained the most active throughout the past two years and at this point we still have an “abundance” of quilts (and fabric for more!) at the ready for community distribution as many organizations put a temporary halt to accepting them during Covid, though we still stayed creative these past two years! Last month we were able to deliver over 36 quilts to two seniors’ lodges in Langley. Our next focus will be the Langley Arts Alive festival, an outdoor event featuring local artisans, food, music and performances, and where our guild has had a presence with displays and demos for many years. At present many of our members are making plans to attend the CQA national show next week in Vancouver and where four of our own have quilts in the National Juried Show. It’s exciting to have the CQA show back in Vancouver.
