In 2019 the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild turned six. Christine McDowell was our president. Due to increasing membership we moved to a larger space to hold our monthly meetings with our beloved show and share.

We continued to hold monthly sew-ins as well. During the year we participated in 3 charities. We made 11 lap quilts for Three Wishes, several tops and quilts for Quilts of Valour and sewed pillows for a member’s charity #87 pillows.

Our active guild held our annual yard sale, 2 block lottos and 3 swaps. Our Executive Challenge was black & white with a pop of colour and over 200 UFOs were completed.

Our annual retreat was well attended and we had a summer social, a BBQ at a members home and a potluck Christmas party.

MMQG was asked to display a selection of “modern quilts” at Quilt Canada in Ottawa. Members were delighted to see their quilts there.

We hosted Corey Follett of The Quilted Stash for a delightful trunk show and 2 workshops.
