Using 7 fabrics some members did the snip, rip, drop , & pass activity described in the Spring 2017 Canadian Quilter. The themes picked were ABC, Tea time, tessellation, Who has seen the wind & some others. These were shown at the April 12, 2018 meeting with some very creative interpretations. At the October workshop with Sheryl Hilash, we learned the binding tool & convex illusions patterns. The workshop was full to capacity.
Our Quilting Bee on April 12, 2018 created 12 tops for the Humbolt Broncos. One of the 4 1/2 dark square contained a gold hockey stick paper pieced by Kathy Tanner. Three other quits were made. One member did a quilt as you go rendition. One block had this message, “When under a quilt you are wrapped in love”
Forty two charity quilts were made this year including the Bronco quilts. They are given to the Make a Wish Foundation of Saskatchewan & the North East Outreach & Support Services in Melfort, SK. Fourteen lap size activity blankets, or fidget quilts, made by members & friends for folks affected by dementia were taken to the New Market Manor in Tisdale & the Aborfield Care Home.
Election of officers on May 10th concludes our year till September.
