The six satellite groups from Langdale to Pender Harbour, under the umbrella of The Sunshine Coast Quilters Guild, are beginning plans for their Quilt Show in 2019. In the meantime, members continue to happily provide quilts for all newborns in our area, for shelters, and for individuals and groups needing “comfort”. Many of these quilts are featured, along with numerous other quilts, at our once a month

Resource Days on the final Saturday of each month. Workshops with teachers including Gloria Loughman from Australia, Terry Aske, Krista Hennebury, and Paul Krampitz from the Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild, have been arranged for by our capable and much appreciated Program Committee. We are lucky to include, in our membership, generous and skilled quilters who willingly share their talents by giving workshops and trunk shows throughout our quilting season.  An enthusiastic group of five teams competed in our own Iron Quilters Event in May, producing exceptional quilts for donation to our Baby Quilts Project.

Having Quilt Canada a forty minute ferry ride away in downtown Vancouver this year was truly thrilling for our Guild. Buoyed with the inspiration of this National conference, celebrating quilting in Canada, will make planning for our own quilt show in 2019 very exciting.
