The pandemic has kept our guild shut down since February 2020. As an executive, we have met once in person (socially distanced) and once via Zoom. In March 2021 we started a monthly Zoom Show and Share with our members and it became apparent our members were craving for some interaction with others. Each last Monday of the month we host a Zoom meeting open to the public to see what everyone has been up to. We will take the summer off and will resume, if not yet safe to meet in person, in September.
Our Programs person, Nancy Sachro has been providing us a row by row designed by Elaine Oliana that just wrapped up in May and an 18-part series on Quilt Colour and Design. Next up is a Canada Day Challenge!
Our Comfort Quilts team has continued to produce quilts and has donated quite a few quilts thanks to volunteers! September 2020- June 2021 48 Comfort Quilts donated September 2019-August 2020 89 Comfort Quilts donated I think we did well! Even dealing with COVID we were still able to donate 1/2 as many as the non Covid year. – Susan Kainula
Our 2021 Quilt Show was cancelled and we are planning a smaller show in May of 2022. A judged show is hoped to be planned in 2024 to bring us back to our usual show schedule.
