Summer seemed to fly by all too quickly, with many activities to keep us as busy as we wanted to be.

Congratulations go to Saskatoon Quilters Guild members, Miriam Pyett, Linda Wright, Carol Ewles and Emily Thomas, who received awards for their beautiful pieces at the annual Creative Arts Showcase in Saskatoon
last month. In addition, Carol Ewles’ art quilt, Greenman, was accepted into the Saskatchewan Craft Council’s Dimensions 2019. Such exceptional quilters we are privileged to have as members of this guild – bravo!

Congratulations also go to Barb Dawson, SQG 2019 Achievement Award recipient. This award honours those members who have exhibited significant, long-term dedication to the Saskatoon Quilters Guild and to the
advancement of the art of quilting in the guild and the community.

The 2019-20 guild year began with our first meeting on August 26. We welcomed our new executive and committee members, and were delighted with a sneak peek into upcoming events and programs.

The countdown to the SQG biennial quilt show is on. We were encouraged to sign up for the many volunteer positions necessary to run a large show efficiently. Quilt show entries are being finalized and refreshers were
given in hanging sleeves, labels and bags. Just a few more weeks until the big event!

We’re looking forward to another amazing quilt show, as well as this year’s programs and challenges.

Happy autumn!
