Behind the Seams
Peter’s presentation includes over 350 slides, taking viewers through Peter’s quilting journey. Not only will Peter show his current and award-winning quilts but his quilt making process, along with close ups of every quilt.
He will share his experience of being a guest on The Quilt Show with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims.
Although Peter has presented to many quilt guilds, he is continually adding new content to his presentation.
About Peter Byrne
Peter is a published, National and International award-winning modern quilter, designer and teacher.
Peter’s goal is innovation, his passion is creativity, and his gift is having opportunities to share new techniques within the quilting community.
Peter brings over a decade of quilting experience to the classroom and values creating a supportive atmosphere and has taught all levels of quilters from beginners to advanced students.
Peter’s students describe him as being positive, caring, knowledgeable and well organized, but most of all, an incredibly patient teacher.
While having quilts juried into QuiltCon, the largest Modern Quilt Show in the world, Peter is the only person in QuiltCons 12-year history to have won a first-place ribbon, along with a second-place ribbon and a third-place ribbon.
Peters quilt titled “Starring You” won Best in Show and his quilt titled “Cityscape” won Best Machine Quilting Frameless and his quilt titled “Spool Dash” won a Judges Choice award!
While having quilts juried into Quilt Canada, Peters quilt titled “Starring You” won Best Machine Quilting Frameless, and his quilt titled “Cityscape” placed 3rd in the Abstract & Improv Category and remarkably in 2023, Peter won all 3 ribbons in the Modern Category! His quilt titled “Wedding Ring” placed 3rd, his quilt titled “Spool Dash” placed 2nd and his quilt titled “Puzzle” placed 1st in the Modern Category!
