What the Lethbridge Centennial Quilters Guild has been up to:

Our membership is steadily growing and we are currently at 151 members, which is awesome.

Our Spring Retreat is scheduled for May 10-13, 2018 at the Bloomin’ Inn, Pincher Creek where the ladies always have a great time sharing ideas, working on various projects and socializing. We also have a massage
therapist on board to help work out those quilter’s kinks.  If the weather is nice, it’s great to go for a long walk outdoors and get some sunshine.  This year there are 18 ladies coming from Lethbridge and surrounding
area.

Our workshop committee has been very busy sourcing out workshop leaders for us.  This fall we will have our mini workshops where our guild members share their expertise in various techniques; these are very well received.  In April 2019, Joen Wolfram is scheduled for a two day workshop which is very exciting for us.

The Festival of Quilts committee has begun planning our 2019 Quilt Show.  We are continuing with a couple of new aspects to the show, including a “Bed Turning” segment where members provide vintage quilts that are displayed on a bed and a narrative is read for each quilt.  We will also continue our “Featured Quilter” where a Guild member is selected based on their activities with the guild, leadership in the field of quilting, etc.  In 2017, Judy Barnett was selected as our first Featured Quilter.  She is an amazing ambassador for our guild, a very gifted quilter and a great teacher.  We are fortunate to have her as our “Judy”.  We are now in the selection process for the 2019 Featured Quilter.

As you can see we have had a very busy year and next year will be equally as busy.
