SUMMARY:Quilting into Spring
DESCRIPTION:The Northern Lights Quilt Guild of Western PEI celebrated their 25th anniversary last year\, \nbut were unable to celebrate with a quilt show. The guild has had several quilt show over the \npast 25 years\, and this is the their third quilt show at the Eptek Art and Culture Centre in Summerside\, PE. \nOne quilt show was October and November. The next one was January and February. We look forward to a spring show. \nThe Eptek Centre is closed on Monday and Saturday\, and open from 10 till 4  the other days. Suggested donation: $5.00

SUMMARY:STORIES in STITCHES V
DESCRIPTION:WANTED \nQUILTS\, HOOKED RUGS\, NEEDLECRAFT \nRenowned ‘Stories in Stitches’ Exhibition – September 10-14\, 2024 \n   Historic and beautiful St. Paul’s church in downtown Charlottetown is the venue for Eastern Canada’s most dramatic display of quilts\, hooked rugs and artistic needlework.  It’s stunning: close to 100 quilts are set out on the pews and railings of the church\, against a background of richly warm woodwork\, lit by the colourful stained-glass windows.  Hooked rugs\, embroidery and other fabric- and needle- arts are also featured.  There are artisan demonstrations as well. \n   The show is hosted jointly by PEI’s Kindred Spirits Quilt Guild and St. Paul’s church.  It attracts over 1200 visitors\, many of them cruise-ship passengers.  This is not a sale\, but some presenters do allow subsequent purchase of their works.  It’s a fine opportunity to display one’s artistic work. \n   This is an early call\, to invite craftspersons — quilters\, rug hookers and other needlework artists — to plan on contributing entries in the exhibition.  The deadline for entry is August 16th. \n  Have a look at the photographic display at www.stpaulschurch.ca – Look for ‘Stories in Stitches.’  That’s where you’ll find ‘The Facts’ and a registration form\, too. \n   For information: \n• Basic facts and entry/registration forms on the church’s website – www.stpaulschurch.ca. \n• Main contact: Carol Macdonald – carolmcdnld70@gmail.com; 902-218-2213
