Many changes for us over the past two years. When we could not meet in person we made the decision to give Zoom a try. We started with just the Guild Meetings and quickly moved to have some social meetings via Zoom to assist members in feeling connected. Committees also moved to using Zoom and currently plan to continue meeting by Zoom. We have gained a few new members who would not otherwise attend our meetings as they live a distance from our area. Our Program Committee was quick to adapt to this new to us technology and brought in guest speakers from all over Canada and the United States. Members continued to work on Community Quilts. Since our store front location could not be used during lockdowns, drop off/pick up places were put in place so members could pick up fabric and kits and drop off completed tops and quilts.

We are now able to use our store front again for Community Quilts and individual sewing with protocols in place for safety. Special interest groups that previous met there are continuing with Zoom meetings at present. We are currently planning to return to in person meetings in June. Moving forward we are planning a modified meeting schedule of in person meetings for May, June, September, October, November and meetings via Zoom for December, January, February, March, April. As programs are planned in advance, some speakers have been booked that are presenting via Zoom, so the in person and Zoom meeting schedule will vary from our plan to accommodate this.
