Phew! What happened to summer?!? However, beautiful Fall season is once again upon us and guild members are in full swing busily working on comfort (charity) quilts, Christmas gifts, and quilts that will be entered in our bi-annual quilt show, 2020 Treasures, which will take place June 26 & 27, 2020. The show committee has met several times
already to ensure effective planning for the show. Raffle ticket sales are brisk for a gorgeous quilt – winner to be announced June 27th .
Our Annual General Meeting was held June 19th, followed by a fabulous pot luck dinner. At the AGM, 25 adult and 19 children’s quilts were presented to the Camrose Women’s Shelter who distribute them to their clients. Recipients are extremely appreciative of these donations. The Comfort Quilt committee is well on its way to meeting the
Guild’s annual commitment to the Shelter. Another presentation of comfort quilts the Shelter will take place in December.
On September 28th, our Guild held its annual one day retreat, now known as ‘Quilt-till-you-Wilt’
day. This event is in keeping with Alberta Culture Days, which celebrates a multitude of arts related activities throughout the province. Photos taken at ‘Wilt’ day have been included below.
